The Washington Post has misrepresented the story of the massacre of Amharas in Woldiya, Wollo province of Ethiopia.
The Amhara youths in the town of Woldiya never tried to attack officers who were patrolling the holiday procession area. Our youth never attacked Police officers who were patrolling the holiday procession area.
The Police officers, of the town, who were patrolling the holiday procession area were only holding a stick and they themselves were the victims of the shooting by the regime’s special force called Agazi.
Lets get the facts straight. The town police officers are not the ones who committed the Woldiya massacre. The massacre was committed by the special force of the regime that has been dispatched even in violation of the constitution the regime had written to rule its subjects.
In fact one of the officers of the town who has been dispatched to patrol the holiday procession area, with a stick, has been killed when a bullet has been fired, by the regime’s special force, and pierced his chest.
In contrary to the report by the Post, the massacre has happened when the regime’s army wing, some times called Agazi special force, has invaded the procession area where the youth were celebrating their holiday by singing traditional songs and began gunning down the children. Among the falls martyrs, a considerable number are children under the age of 14.
The post could have verified the story from unbiased sources than quoting and repeating what the chief mercenary, Amare Goshu, reported to his bosses on the State Television as if in celebration of the death of the children.
