It was the Oromo-Amhara coalition that has defeated Michael Sihul of Tigre
The Oromo-Amhara coalition to defeat the unjust supremacy of Tigrian rulers is not a recent phenomena.
It has historical roots during the period of Era of Princes and beyond. It was the Oromo-Amhara coalition that has defeated Michael Sihul of Tigre, often called the 18th C king maker, and saved the King of Kings of Ethiopia during the Gondarine period.
Not only this, Amhara-Oromo coalition had been continued to fight unjust supremacy of the Tigrian rulers even after the death of Ras Michael Sehul of Tigre when his sons replaced their father tried to do the same as their father.
Ras Woldemichael of Tigre, the descendant of Michael Sihul tried to kill the kings of kings of Ethiopia but he was defeated by Ras Aligaz, the guardianship of the king of kings of Ethiopia in Gonar and his Amhara supporters.
The following page is from a book written by Abir Mordechai entitled “Ethiopia: the era of the princes. The challenge of Islam and the re-unification of the Christian empire, 1769–1855; Publication date 1968”.
If you watch closely the events unfolding in Ethiopia after the out break of Amhara Resistance in Gondar and that of the Oromo protest in Ginchi, you would say that history does nothing but repeating itself.
